A silver cavalry helmet in the production of Brett Ratner’s 2014 mythological action film Hercules.
This helmet and others like it were made for the production and were worn by cavalrymen of supposed rival warlord Rhesus (Tobias Santelmann), mistaken for centaurs before the Thracian army sees their true form. The helmet is made of moulded vinyl with broad cheek guards and a large resin fin running over the top. A long tail made of tied brown hair has been fitted to the helmet’s rear, while the interior of the helmet is foam-lined for the comfort and safety of the wearer. ‘Ignacz’, the name of a stunt performer, is handwritten on the padded foam. The helmet is finished in silver and steel-coloured paint.
Featuring some wear to the paint finish and dirt from use on set, the helmet remains in overall very good condition.
Materials: Vinyl, Faux Hair, Foam.
