A set of upper body prosthetics and stunt respirator used in the Guillermo del Toro action adventure Hellboy II: The Golden Army. Killing his father and seeking out the pieces of an ancient crown, the elven prince Nuada (Luke Goss) declares war on humanity, breaking a time-honoured truce. Can Hellboy (Ron Perlman), Liz (Selma Blair) and the B.P.R.D. defeat Nuada before the legendary Golden Army is brought to bear on the human race?
This set of prosthetics were used to create the visage of Abe Sapien (Doug Jones), one of the BPRD agents trying to prevent the reactivation of the Golden Army by Nuada, with these prosthetics forming the entirety of the creature’s upper body. The set is comprised of a head appliance, torso, arms and hands. An aquatic creature, Abe’s skin is blue and covered with fins that assist with swimming. The skin is made from foam latex while the fins are made of a translucent silicon material with ribbing running along the fin’s spines. The set is completed with a soft rubber stunt respirator with ribbed collar detailing. The skin is painted in varying light and dark blue shades with white along the throat while the fin is finished in purple. .The respirator is finished in black and blue with metallic silver and brass paint used for the mechanical components.

Displaying some wear from use on the production including paint loss and some minor tears in the foam latex, the prosthetics remain in overall good condition and are presented on a custom mannequin display.
