A Professor Remus Lupin (David Thewlis) werewolf transformation maquette from Alfonso Cuaron's Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson) watched Professor Lupin transform into a werewolf, after which he pursued them until Buckbeak intervened to save them.
The Prisoner of Azkaban is widely regarded as the most artistically accomplished film in the Harry Potter franchise. Under the direction of Academy Award®-winner Alfonso Cuaron, the series took a decisive tonal shift away from the whimsical children's fantasy of the first two installments. Cuaron's installment introduced a more cinematic visual language and embraced a moodier, more emotionally complex sensibility that matured in tandem with the characters themselves.
Created for visual effects reference, this maquette is cast from painted resin with the balls of the feet featuring metal bolts to allow the maquette to mount to a stand. This lot exhibits chipping paint throughout. Dimensions: 8.5" x 16" x 5" (21.75 cm x 40.75 cm x 12.75 cm)
