A SFX Nimbus 2000 broom from the production of Chris Columbus' fantasy adventure film Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) played his first game of Quidditch while riding a Nimbus 2000, the fastest broom in the wizarding world.

The visual effects team established a method for filming flying-broomstick scenes, which was used as a blueprint for the sequels that followed. This method involved actors being individually filmed against a green screen while sitting on broomsticks fixed to motion-controlled rigs.

The broom comprises two parts: a metal handle painted to look like wood and the broom section, which is made of wood. Halfway up the underside of the handle is an attachment slot where the broom would have been fixed to a rig. Actors would have been filmed sitting on his broom, which would have also been fitted with a seat for comfort, in front of a green screen while the rig was creating motion. Dimensions: 180 cm x 22 cm x 22 cm (70.75" x 8.75" x 8.75")
