A set of Fawkes feathers from the production of David Yates' fantasy adventure Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2. Fawkes was Albus Dumbledore's (Michael Gambon) beloved pet phoenix, who had left Hogwarts after the wizard headmaster's death in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. Fawkes was created using a combination of CGI and an animatronic puppet covered in vibrantly dyed feathers. The puppet was so convincing that actor Richard Harris - who played Dumbledore in the first Harry Potter film - initially believed it was a real bird.

The lot comprises seven feathers dyed in shades of red and orange. They come with a Warner Bros. compliment slip displaying a handwritten message, and their original envelope, which features "George" written in black ink. There are light signs of creasing and minor marks on the envelope. Dimensions (largest): 12 cm x 6.5 cm (4¾" x 2½"); (slip): 10 cm x 21 cm (4" x 8¼")

A percentage of the proceeds from the sale of this lot will be donated to the Starlight Children's Foundation.

This lot was initially gifted directly from the Harry Potter production to a young boy named George Major, who was diagnosed with Leukemia at the age of four and underwent treatment for three and a half years. During this difficult time, he raised over £50,000 for charity and received a Pride of Britain award for his achievements. Towards the end of his successful treatment, George was granted a wish: to visit the Harry Potter film set at Leavesden during filming. He experienced a private tour of the sets and various production departments, and had the chance to meet Daniel Radcliffe, who was filming some final green-screen sequences.
