The coat worn by Father Lecter (Richard Leaf) in the of the Hannibal Lecter prequel Hannibal Rising.
Detailing the origins of the famous serial killer, Hannibal Rising takes place in the wake of the Second World War as Hannibal (Gaspard Ulliel) exacts his revenge – and indulges in a little cannibalism – on the unsuspecting killers of his family.
This coat was worn by the family’s patriarch, Father Lecter, at the beginning of the film when the family faced an untimely and violent death. Made of a dark green wool, the double-breasted coat features four pockets on the front which have been edged with dark brown leather and feature button fastenings. The lining of the coat is a brown tweed fabric and the left side features a pocket on the inside.
Signs of deliberate distressing indicating the Stuka plane firing at the innocent are apparent all over the coat and include bullet holes, tears in the fabric, ‘blood’ stains, fake snow and pieces of straw from the yard. This coat shows signs of production-use from the large amount of intentional distressing and remains in good condition, with no sizes marked.
