Michael Myers' (Chris Durand) mask from Steve Miner's slasher sequel Halloween H20: 20 Years Later. The iconic serial killer wore his mask throughout the film as he travelled to California to attempt to finally slay his sister Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis), now under the new identity of Keri Tate, 20 years after their initial encounter.
Four different designs were created for the production: the KNB mask, the Stan Winston mask, the Buechler mask, and an unusual looking CGI mask that was superimposed in one scene. Several weeks into shooting, Miner was instructed by producers to change the appearance of Myers' mask. This example is one of two created by Stan Winston Studios for re-shoots, replacing the original KNB mask. It is seen in several scenes, mainly in close-up shots of Michael, including the film's finale when Laurie decapitates her murderous brother. All four designs feature wider eyeholes than the masks in previous films.
The latex mask - based on the William Shatner mask famously used in John Carpenter's 1978 original - is painted off-white, with brown-painted eyebrows and faux brown hair. There is an intentional split up the back with strips of Velcro adhered, allowing it to be easily worn, and this particular example has an extended neck section. There are some minor holes in the latex and some discolouration around the neck. The lot is accompanied by a Miramax certificate of authenticity. Dimensions: 23 cm x 19 cm x 42 cm (9" x 7 1/2" x 16 1/2")
Estimate: £20,000 - 30,000 M
