A cable-controlled animatronic Silverbeard (Peter Elliott) gorilla head from Hugh Hudson's Greystoke: The Legend of Tarzan, Lord of the Apes. Silverbeard was the dominant male of the Mangani apes that adopted and raised John Clayton (Christopher Lambert) as Tarzan, and acted as Tarzan's adoptive father. This highly-mechanized Silverbeard head was designed for use in close-up shots.

This head consists of foam latex skin mounted onto a mechanical underskull with straps on the bottom and cables for servo-control that extend outside the head to articulate various expressions. It is detailed with black, silver-color, and orange hand-punched hair, and is mounted onto a wooden base. The piece exhibits some wear from production use and age such as hardened, brittle foam latex, and discoloration in the beard. Dimensions: (on stand) 24" x 8.5" x 20" (61 cm x 47 cm x 51 cm)
