A Severed Wolf Head from 2011 survival thriller, The Grey. In the film, a plane crashes in the Alaskan wilderness and the survivors must rely on Ottway (Liam Neeson) to protect them from a pack of ravenous wolves and lead them to safety.
A head like this one comes from the scene in which a rogue wolf attacks the group and they manage to kill it. As the survivors cook the wolf, one of the men violently decapitates the animal with a pocket knife and holds it up to taunt the remaining wolves that lurk in the darkness. The head is made of foam latex and is entirely covered with highly realistic fur. The wolf has green eyes and detailed teeth, both of which are made of hard rubber. At the rear of the skull, where the head has been decapitated, there are intricate strands of foam latex made to resemble the wolf’s innards as well as a partial spine.
This head measures approximately 15” x 10” (38cm x 25cm) and while it has no ears, which were likely lost during production, it remains in overall very good condition.
