A small alien creature from Jon Wright’s 2012 comedy horror film Grabbers.
A quiet island off the coast of Ireland is invaded by blood sucking extra-terrestrials. The locals then discover that they won’t attack anyone with a high blood-alcohol level, so need to get very, very drunk to survive.
This small creature is one of many seen towards the end of the film, when they made their way towards the pub during the storm and attacked a local. Many of the creatures were created by CGI – however, this particular model would have been used for when they flew across the screen during the sequence.
The grabber is constructed of sealed silicone coloured in shades of purple on its body, with the mouth area in shades of pink and red. The creature resembles a sea creature with its small tentacles at its base and larger ones towards the head. The moulded twisted shape gives a fantastic out-of-this-world impression - inside the mouth there are five large teeth made of thin resin. This joyfully scary piece has some slight wear, but is in otherwise excellent production-used condition.
