A baby Godzilla's claw from Roland Emmerich's Godzilla. Hundreds of juvenile Godzillas emerged from a nest of eggs inside Madison Square Garden, forcing the American military to incinerate the beloved venue in a targeted missile strike.
The Baby Godzillas were brought to life with a combination of animatronics, computer-generated imagery (CGI), and live-action photography featuring performers in suits. Around seven such suits were custom-made for the film by Patrick Tatopoulos Designs with stilt-like leg extensions and sharpened reptilian claws added, while several dead Baby Godzilla bodies were also built for shots of the aftermath at MSG. Tatopoulos' team later received a Saturn Award® for Best Special Effects for their work.
This claw originates from a crew member. It is cast from resin, textured to appear reptilian, and hand-painted by paint supervisor Gino Acevedo. It exhibits a hole from production. Dimensions: 4.5" x 2.5" x 2" (11.5 cm x 6.5 cm x 5 cm)
