Tigris of Gaul's (Sven-Ole Thorsen) helmet and a set of storyboards from Ridley Scott's Oscar®-winning historical epic Gladiator. The undefeated gladiator Tigris of Gaul wore his helmet during his Colosseum battle against Maximus (Russell Crowe).

The helmet – resembling a lion's head with a ferocious open mouth – is constructed from fibreglass and resin, with a metal-plated finish that has been intentionally distressed to appear battle-worn. This particular example does not display heavy signs of wear and, therefore, may have been a production backup. However, it is the only example (that we know of) that is in private hands. The full faceplate is designed to slide up inside the helmet and lock into place.

Accompanying the helmet is a set of production-used storyboards illustrating the Tigris of Gaul battle sequence. Each page features the production title printed in the top right corner, with the names of director Ridley Scott and credited illustrator Sylvain Despretz situated below.

The helmet displays some light signs of scuffing to the metal plating, and the storyboards exhibit marks, curled corners and small tears from production use.
