A mounted Terror Dog trophy gift from Ivan Reitman's Ghostbusters. In a classic sequence, Gozer the Gozerian (Slavitza Jovan) brought two gargoyles to life as demonic Terror Dogs with glowing red eyes.

Columbia Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) advanced renowned visual effects maestro Richard Edlund $5 million to found Boss Film Studios, which eventually produced many of the groundbreaking effects sequences in the film from its Marina del Rey studio (formerly home to Douglas Trumbull's Entertainment Effects Group [EEG]). The Terror Dogs were brought to life by the Boss Creature Shop using a combination of stop-motion animation and puppetry, ultimately earning the film - including Edlund - an Academy Award® nomination for Visual Effects.

This full-scale, ornately-detailed Terror Dog head was made immediately after production wrapped from the original Terror Dog molds and gifted to Edlund during post-production by Ghostbusters ghost shop head Stuart Ziff. It is constructed from latex backed with polyfoam and its horns are painted to resemble bone. The head comes mounted in the style of a hunter's trophy to wood backing above a plaque engraved "Terror Dog - Wt. 2736 lbs - Shot by Richard Edlund - Marina Del Rey 1984." The reverse is inscribed "Thank you Richard - Stuart Ziff - 4-13-84" in pencil. The head exhibits light cracking throughout from age and should be handled with caution, as it remains fragile.
