A clawed demon creature glove from Ivan Reitman's fantasy-comedy film Ghostbusters. Demonic arms burst through a chair and grabbed Dana Barrett (Sigourney Weaver) while she was sitting in her apartment.

This brown latex demon claw glove features synthetic hair throughout and three foam claws. The glove was worn by puppeteers when Weaver was grabbed by the demon arms while in the chair. This glove exhibits fragile material with deterioration and cracking from age. Dimensions: 26" x 6" x 0.5" (66 cm x 15.25 cm x 1.5 cm)

This lot comes from the collection of effects pioneer Stuart Ziff. Upon moving to Edlund's Entertainment Effects Group (later renamed Boss Film Studios) in 1983, Ziff headed the 50-person "Ghost Shop" responsible for the groundbreaking demonic special effects in Ivan Reitman's comedy classic Ghostbusters. Numerous ghosts and spectral phenomena created for the picture, including the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man's costume, immediately landed in the American pop culture lexicon, where they've remained for nearly four decades.
