A plaster reference head made by make-up effects master Dick Smith for John Irvin’s 1981 horror film Ghost Story. In the film, two generations of men are haunted by a spectral woman when one amongst them are killed under mysterious circumstances. This reference bust was made for Eva / Alma, who are discovered to be one in the same, a woman who returns from beyond the grave to haunt the men who killed her. Made of plaster, this reference bust shows the rotting face of Alma. The bust features bulging eyes, and the right side of the face rotted away. Written inside the bust is "Dick Smith" who created the make-up on the film. This piece shows some wear to the plaster due to age and storage, with cracks to the plaster, leaving it in fair used condition. Dimensions: 16" x 14" x6" (40 cm x 35 cm x 15 cm)
