A Cobra Soldier Energy Pistol from Stephen Sommers’ 2009 action adventure, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. In the film, a secret military team known as G.I. Joe pursues the dangerous terrorist organization Cobra to keep the world safe from evil. Throughout the film, many of the Cobra soldiers can be seen with guns like these attached to the holster on their legs.
The pistol is made of dense urethane that has been painted black. This item was made during the production of the film and serves as a prototype for the final look of the weapons in the film. The gun was designed to reflect a science fiction, military weapon which harkens back to the original Hasbro toy line and cartoon series. This piece shows signs of wear but is in overall good condition. Additionally, the Baroness (Sienna Miller) carries two similar pistols throughout the film, though hers are made without the flashlight feature sculpted to the underside of the barrel.
