Private Cowboy's (Arliss Howard) helmet cover with an insect repellent bottle affixed to a Vietnam-era helmet from Stanley Kubrick's war-drama Full Metal Jacket. Pvt. Cowboy wore his helmet when his platoon was bombed during a patrol.

This lot consists of an original fiberglass helmet wrapped in a green camouflage cloth; a dark green metal helmet; and a black rubber strip securing an empty white plastic insect repellent bottle to the side. The metal helmet and repellant were added to complete the lot. The helmet features a handwritten calendar from December to March, "SHORT" on the back, and "That'll be the Day" along the side. This helmet exhibits intentional distressing.
