A collection of hand-drawn concept art from Peter Jackson’s The Frighteners. This lot contains artwork depicting conceptual designs of various characters from the film.
Four hand-drawn images of the Grim Reaper are included in this lot. Two of these images are drawn in pencil on card stock paper. The other two images are drawn in white chalk and paint on black paper. Each of these pieces are signed and dated by Glen Eisner.
Three of the pieces are hand-drawn in pencil on card stock paper and feature The Judge (John Astin) drawn in the style of a mummy. These pieces are unique as they are hand drawn by Glen Eisner but feature photocopied images of Astin’s head drawn by Rick Baker and glued to the mummy’s body. Glen Eisner signed a corner of each photo with "Rick Baker/Glen Eisner."
The last two pieces are each hand-drawn in pencil. The first is drawn on card stock paper and features an image depicting The Judge. This piece is labeled "hair design sketch". The second piece is hand-drawn on green paper and is labeled "The Gatekeeper". Each of these pieces are signed by Eisner. Dimensions (mummy and Gatekeeper pieces): 24" x 18" (61 cm x 46 cm); Dimensions (Grim Reaper and hair test): 17" x 14" (43 cm x 36 cm)
