Our expert's notesForrest Gump’s (Tom Hanks) Country Road Costume seen in Robert Zemeckis’ 1994 drama, Forrest Gump. The movie follows the life of Forrest Gump (Tom Hanks), and his love for Jenny Curran (Robin Wright). This costume can be seen three times throughout the film.
Forrest is first seen wearing khaki pants and blue striped shirt just after he marries Jenny, as they are walking along a country road holding hands with Forrest Junior (Haley Joel Osment) and twice after that as he talks to Jenny’s gravestone. This costume includes tee-shirt, pants with belt, and a pair of socks. The shirt is a blue, white and pink striped short sleeved collared shirt made by Town Craft. The shirt is listed as adult size Large, is made from a polyester and cotton blend, and has a left breast pocket. The khaki pants have been manufactured by Brooks Brothers, and do not have a listed size, though they appear to have been tailored to custom fit Tom Hanks. The belt is a brown leather belt with a brass buckle, and no manufacturers’ information. The socks are a green cotton blend made by Dockers. Pinned to the socks is a production tag indicating that this was the characters’ 70th costume change, for scene 267.
These items feature little signs of wear from production use and age, including a few loose stitches, but remain in overall good condition.
