Our expert's notesForrest Gump’s (Tom Hanks) blue medical robe from the 1994 hit comedy-drama, Forrest Gump.
Gump retells his adventures ranging from shrimp boating and ping pong championships, to thinking about his childhood love, as he bumbles his way through American history, with everything from the Vietnam War to college football becoming part of his story.
Forrest wears his corduroy blue medical robe when he is recovering in the hospital after being shot in Vietnam. Here, he learns how to play ping pong. The robe is labelled as a size medium (M) and has three pockets on the front, two on each side along the waist and one on the left side at the chest. The chest level pocket also has a white US Army caduceus stitched into it.
The robe has four buttons so that it can be closed up from either side, along with a crossover button on the inside left of the robe. The collar interior also has 'MPCC', indicating Motion Picture Costume Company, is handwritten in black marker.
The robe shows some wear from age and production, but remains in overall very good condition.
