A red hawkwoman costume from Mike Hodges' sci-fi film Flash Gordon. Hawkmen and hawkwomen watched as Flash Gordon (Sam J. Jones) and Prince Barin (Timothy Dalton) fought a trial by combat on Vultans' (Brian Blessed) floating platform.

This hawkwoman costume comprises a red textured metallic dress featuring a hand-painted black chevron motif; hand-sewn red sequins; a Velcro back closure; two intentionally made splits up the centre front and back; and an intentional hole above the midriff, front and back. Also included is a pair of handpainted wings, with glued sequins and beads, affixed to a brown leather bustier harness. The harness has layers of feather-shaped leather cutouts, glued and sewn red sequins and beads, and a strap at the front and back which would have fed through the holes in the dress to attach an undergarment beneath. The costume comes presented on a wooden clothes valet display stand. It exhibits areas of discolouration, dust and missing sequins and beads from production use and age.
