A clapperboard from the production of Mike Hodges' sci-fi adventure Flash Gordon. While not a big box office success on release, the film has developed a fierce cult following.

This wooden clapperboard features the production title above the names of director Hodges and cinematographer Gilbert Taylor. "Blue Backing" and "27th Nov 79 EXT" are handwritten on tape adhered to the front. "B Camera" is handwritten on tape adhered to the back of the clapper sticks, and a sheet of handwritten production information is taped to the back of the clapperboard. The "JDC" beneath the clapper stick stands for Joe Dunton Cameras, a competitor of Samuelson's Film Services (who supplied Panavision), meaning Flash Gordon must have used the relatively new JDC equipment. The lot has some paint wear and chipping around the edges. Dimensions: 30.5 cm x 38 cm x 1.5 cm (12" x 15" x 0.5")
