Lancelot's (Richard Gere) Knights of the Round Table costume from Jerry Zucker's adventure-drama film First Knight. Lancelot wore his blue medieval uniform throughout Camelot and during the final battle against Malagant's (Ben Cross) forces. This lot comes from the archives of the Italian costume company Costumi d'Arte.

The costume comprises a tunic, a protective tabard, trousers and a pauldron. The tunic is predominantly cotton, with the upper sleeves corduroy and the sections at the shoulders made of velvet. The tabard is made of cotton corduroy and faux sude, embellished with metal studs. The trousers are grey cotton, while the pauldron is made of fibreglass, finished to look like steel. A metal hook fitted to the inside of the pauldron allows it to be attached to the tabard by a leather strap on the left shoulder. The tunic, tabard and trousers all feature labels with "Lancelot" and "Richard Gere" handwritten on them in black marker pen. The trousers also have a "1" handwritten on the same label.

Additional Provenance: This lot comes from the archives of the famed Italian costume company Costumi d'Arte. The company has been supplying some of the biggest film productions in the world with costumes for over 100 years.
