A Niska henchman's SFX Knife made for episode 102 'The Train Job' of Joss Whedon's science fiction series Firefly. In the episode, one of Niska's (Michael Fairman) henchmen throws a knife at Malcom Reynolds (Nathan Fillion) which is lodged in the front of his shoulder.
The knife features an aluminum blade and resin handle. It is attached to an aluminum plate made to fit around the shoulder in order to give the appearance of being lodged in the body. The plate has a foam layer for comfort and is secured to the performer using a strap. This piece shows some signs of wear but is in overall good condition.
