A Zorg Industries ZF-1 from Luc Besson's sci-fi action film The Fifth Element. Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (Gary Oldman) demonstrated the high-tech power of the unfolding ZF-1 guns when he tried to exchange them with the Mangalores for the elemental stones. The sequence was created with a combination of stop-motion animation and SFX. Multiple iterations of the ZF-1 were created for the sequence, including a static closed version, partially opened versions, and a hero version with the guns' full artillery displayed. This lot is a battery-powered, hero-style ZF-1 featuring a yellow rocket, five dart launchers on each side, a blaster cannon, and a red launch button on the side. It is constructed from a combination of fiberglass, resin, and polished aluminum hand-painted with yellow and brown camouflage patterns and padded with textured rubber on the back carry handle. The ZF-1 exhibits grease stains along its aluminum interior, flaking paint throughout, and cracks in the exterior fiberglass from production use. Its current functionality is unknown.
