Korben Dallas' (Bruce Willis) costume display from Luc Besson's sci-fi adventure The Fifth Element. Korben Dallas wore his costume for most of the film, from his encounter with a mugger (Mathieu Kassovitz) at his apartment to arriving on the Fhloston Paradise cruise ship with Leeloo (Milla Jovovich).
Established fashion and costume designer Jean-Paul Gaultier was hired to produce more than 1,000 unique costumes for the production. Gaultier opted for a bright colour palette and non-traditional materials, such as rubber and plexiglass, to create fresh and innovative designs.
The costume comprises a bright orange rubber vest with an attached pair of black nylon shorts; a pair of dark grey nylon trousers with light contrast stitching all over (labelled "1"); and a pair of chunky, black leather boots. There are three straps with Velcro fastenings on the back of the top and two hidden zip fastenings on the front of the trousers. Lacing detail runs down the front crotch, inner leg seams and back seam of the trousers.
Dallas' attire is presented on a custom-built display, with a base featuring The Fifth Element title artwork. Completing the costume is Dallas' stunt pistol, held in the display's right hand. The heavily modified solid rubber Vektor CP1 pistol is finished in black and silver-coloured paint, with green-coloured non-functioning acrylic bulbs located on both sides of the futuristic-looking weapon. There are light signs of production use, including minor cracking and marks on the rubber top. Dimensions (displayed): 37 cm x 59 cm x 174 cm (14½" x 23¼" x 68½")
