A full-size monster torso from John Gulager’s 2005 comedy horror film Feast.

The patrons of a bar are shocked when an inhuman beast attacks, killing several of the people inside. With the windows boarded up, they can do nothing but wait for help, knowing that more of the foul creatures remain outside, waiting for their chance to strike.

This particular version of the beast was for the male creature and was used primarily for action scenes during the film’s finale, in which Heroine (Navi Rawat) rams the butt of her gun into the monster's face, smashing its teeth before shoving her arm down its throat to kill it. The scene was edited so that shots of the torso could be interspersed with shots of the costumed actor.

The piece is made with a non-mechanical head by one of the leading special effects artists in the industry. Made from foam rubber with plastic ‘hair’ appliances inserted in the back of the head and a collection of pointed acrylic teeth, the skull has an array of intricate 'cracked' detailing and a central protruding bone. The costume still has traces of fake blood from where it was dressed for use on set. The torso shows minor wear from production use and age but it remains in an otherwise very good condition.
