The Thing's (Michael Chiklis) mask and display stand from Tim Story’s superhero sequel Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer. Having transformed into the rocky being known as The Thing, Ben Grimm works with the super-team throughout the film as they confront the alien Silver Surfer (Doug Jones) and attempt to save the Earth from his powerful, planet-consuming master Galactus.
Made from foam latex, the mask features ridged, rock-shaped patterns with an orange paint finish that has a wash applied to darken the recesses. A set of Grimm's prosthetic teeth are also fixed to the mask as well as a pair of blue acrylic eyes. The mask rests on a foam core bust with handwritten notes reading "Hero Neck" across the front. The bust sits atop a grey foam base with the Fantastic Four logo in the center of the base. The piece shows minor signs of wear from production use and age, but it remains in great overall condition.
