A script with notes from an unproduced film adaptation of Ray Bradbury’s classic dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451.

The film was due to be directed by Mel Gibson, but did not make it past the pre-production stage. This script – credited to Terry Hayes, who wrote the screenplay for Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior among others – is 142 pages long, including the title page. Several of the pages feature green paper tabs and short handwritten notes about the scene in question. The script itself is bound with a metal fastener and watermarked ‘000060’ throughout.

The script has wear from use and age, including creasing and staining, and the tabs have folded over in storage. Overall it remains in good condition.
