A hand-forged hero metal sword and scabbard from the 1999 John McTiernan directed action/adventure film, the 13th Warrior. In the film, Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan (Antonio Banderas) is an Arab ambassador. When he is exiled from his homeland he comes across a band of Norse warriors who he soon discovers he is destined to join.
This sword was used by the Norse warrior Halga (Asbjorn ‘Bear’ Riis) as the Vikings – and their reluctant conscript Ahmed – head north to battle an ancient evil, the “Wendol”. A very close match to the hero sword seen in use by Halga throughout the film, the sword features a hand-forged blade with a solid metal guard covered in Celtic cross and ram devices, a wood grip and a bare metal pommel. The massive weapon is carried in a red leather sheath with a metal end cap. The rear of the sheath is marked “Bear”, indicating its use by Riis.

Well-used on the production, the sword displays some wear from use but remains in overall very good production-used condition.
