A helmet worn by Halga (Asbjorn ‘Bear’ Riis) in the 1999 action movie 13th Warrior, starring Antonio Banderas. Halga can be seen wearing this helmet throughout the film in both the open and closed positions. The helmet is made from metal painted to look like copper and has been purposefully distressed by the art department. It has a tall fin and wide rim, attached to which is a face guard with circular decorative holes and leather to protect the actor's face. The inside of the helmet has been lined with padding then covered in leather. Wrapped around the main body of the helmet is a leather band with a metal oval emblem featuring a lion. One of the face guards has been removed post production and has some slight dents in places, but it is still an easily recognisable piece. The helmet measures 38cm (15”) tall, 37cm (14.5”) long and 30cm (12”) wide.
