Edgtho's (Daniel Southern) Battle Outfit from the 1999 John McTiernan directed action/adventure film, The 13th Warrior. In the film, Ahmed Ibn Fahdlan (Antonio Banderas) is an Arab ambassador. When he is exiled from his homeland he comes across a band of Norse warriors whom he is destined to join.
This battle outfit serves as Edgtho’s primary attire for the duration of the film. The most distinctive item from this wardrobe is the heavy black leather kilt which extends all the way down to the floor and is supported by nylon suspenders with Velcro attachments. The waist has a nylon strap stitched into the leather that includes heavy duty Velcro allowing it to hold together. This costume also features two pieces of stunt chainmail, a vest, and both a shoulder and cowl piece. The chainmail was constructed from durable rope linked together and painted metallic grey with patches of rust to give it a more rustic appearance. Worn underneath the chainmail is a wool navy blue shirt that closes up using a series of snap buttons at the shoulder that are hidden by an ornamental leather tie. Also included with this costume are a pair of brown leather boots marked "Edgtho #3", along with black leather bracers tagged for Edgtho, and studded black leather gloves labeled as "Stunt."
This costume was custom made and has no sizing information, but remains in great production used condition.
