Ash's (Bruce Campbell) chainsaw blade from an alternate opening for Sam Raimi's Evil Dead II. Ash used his chainsaw to cut off his possessed hand. The saw blade was used for an alternate opening that did not make it to the final cut, in which Ash was introduced in silhouette with the saw blade, which required a more exaggerated appearance. The Evil Dead films were hugely influential on subsequent horror films and helped launch the careers of both Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi. Ash's chainsaw is considered one of the most iconic weapons of the horror genre.

Originating from a crew member, this lot consists of one blade made of composite wood, cardboard, and paper. Painted black, the blade features a wood block handle on the backside. This lot exhibits torn cardboard, notable wear along the teeth, exposed adhesive residue, and overall fragility. Dimensions: 73.75 cm x 18 cm x 10.25 cm (29"" x 7" x 4")
