A lost Necronomicon Ex-Mortis page hand-illustrated by Tom Sullivan for Sam Raimi's Evil Dead II. Lost Necronomicon pages were brought back from an archaeological dig by Annie Knowby (Sarah Berry) and later used by Ash (Bruce Campbell) to defeat the evil forces in the cabin.
This page, from the personal collection of special effects artist Tom Sullivan, is made of thin paper featuring an incompletely-applied block print headed by hand-rendered text of ancient symbols Sullivan devised that he humorously called "Bullscrit." Pages like this were purposefully distressed by production by soaking them in tea, dipping them in lemon juice, drying them out, and burning them along the edges. This lot shows additional tearing from age and should be handled with caution. Dimensions: 6" x 8" (16.75 cm x 20.5 cm)
