Two stop-motion ghost puppets from Sam Raimi's Evil Dead II. In the opening sequence, various ghostly creatures from the "evil worlds beyond" flew out of a swirling vortex.

This lot, from the personal collection of special effects artist Tom Sullivan, features two polymer clay ghost skeleton puppets-one human and one goat-with wire armatures painted black and gray with yellow embellishments. The film's opening sequence was a groundbreaking fusion of stop-motion animation, optical effects, and Raimi's unique visual style, and pushed the boundaries of practical effects when CGI was still in its infancy. The puppets have stiffened with age and exhibit paint chipping and clay cracking, with the goat ghost having two pieces broken off.
