William (Daniel Wu) distressed launch suit costume from Sebastian Cordero's 2013 found footage thriller, Europa Report. The film follows six international astronauts on a privately funded mission to Jupiter's moon, Europa, in hopes of finding signs of life. This costume is worn by Wu during the final launch attempt on Europa, when the character meets his unfortunate demise.
Custom fabricated for production, this launch suit features a variety of durable fabrics and colors to sell the complexity of a suit like this to the audience. The suit has a zipper down the front, a total of five pockets, and several sections of Velcro to make holding on to items in zero gravity a bit easier. Most notably, it features two different mission patches on the left breast and left.
Additionally, there are several zippered or concealed opening on the suit to allow for the passage of wires for when Wu needed to be harnessed for zero gravity scenes. The distress of the piece comes from the red stains throughout the piece, done by production to demonstrate how the suits have aged throughout the mission and further distressed after the character's deadly fall. A tag inside reads "#4 William". The suit is in great, production used condition.
