A cell blanket used in the production of Don Siegel’s biopic Escape from Alcatraz. After numerous prison escapes across the USA, Frank Morris (Clint Eastwood) finds himself in the maximum security prison of Alcatraz. After numerous acts of cruelty by the guards, he gathers friends and allies and hatches an escape plan.
This blanket, acquired from the collection of First Assistant Cameraman Gordon Paschal, was used by Clint Eastwood in the role of Frank Morris for his bed in his tiny Alcatraz prison cell. Made of course brown and grey wool, the blanket features the text "State of California” printed in black on one side. Displaying only minor wear from its time in use, the blanket remains in very good condition.
