A light-up recoiling railgun with a power backpack from Chuck Russell's Eraser. When Cyrez learned about Lee Cullen (Vanessa Williams) taking information to the FBI about their electromagnetic railgun for the black market, they targeted her with the weapon and killed her boyfriend Darryl (Cylk Cozart) in the process. U.S. Marshal John "Eraser" Kruger (Arnold Schwarzenegger), who was tasked with protecting Lee, later seized a pair of railguns with backpacks from U.S. Marshal Robert DeGuerin's (James Caan) men and used them against them at the shipping docks.
Railguns were a subject of significant public interest during the 1990s, and this film was among the first to depict one, forever associating Schwarzenegger's Eraser with the distinctive weapon. In 1996, Schwarzenegger won the Bambi Award® for International Film and later won a Golden Camera Award® in Germany 1997 for Best International Actor. That same year, Schwarzenegger was nominated for a MTV Movie Award® for Best Action Sequence during his freefalls.
This lot consists of a railgun and a power backpack. The rifle is equipped with a CO2-based "shooting smoke" system and an air-powered recoil mechanism built into the front-mounted barrel housing.
