Durza's (Robert Carlyle) sword from Stefen Fangmeier's adaptation of the fantasy book, Eragon. In the film, a young farm boy named Eragon (Ed Speleers) encounters a dragon that leads him on a journey to defeat the evil Galbatorix (John Malkovich). This sword is used by the Shade, Durza, who serves Galbatorix, and can be seen holstered throughout the film.
Durza's sword consists of a short, slender blade that meets an ornate guard that is stylized like a bird. The blade is made from aluminum and has dull edges with a sharp point. The cross-guard is made from metal and features the face of a bird on either side of the blade, and includes claws at ends of the guard. The grip appears to be made of resin with a rough texture similar to wood, and connects to a pommel that consists of four sharp bird talons.
Included with this sword is a scabbard with a faux leather exterior. The throat of the sheath is decorated with a metal casing with chains on either end to attach to a belt.
This piece remains in very good condition.
