A Subcommand Control Station from Gavin Hood’s 2012 sci-fi adaptation, Ender’s Game. In the film, Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is recruited to lead the International Fleet against the alien race known as Formics. The light-up subcommand control consoles were used by Ender’s subcommanders in the film’s climatic battle sequence. Sub commanders sat at the consoles and dispatched drones at Ender’s command.

This set includes a subcommand console and subcommand chair. The console is constructed of a fiberglass shell and features a large acrylic windscreen, resin grating pieces, a Razer brand Nostromo expert gaming keypad, and several LED lighting effects. The console is painted slate to emulate a metallic surface and includes various sci-fi influenced details. The lighting effects include an LED strip that lights the windscreen, a transparency back lit by an LED light pad to simulate the battle display, a back lit strip of battle information, and two small blue LED indicator lights. The lighting effects are wired to a 12 volt transformer that plugs directly into an American AC electrical outlet. The gaming pad is mounted to the left of the LED light pad and features an adjustable palm-rest, a scroll wheel, 16 keys, blue lighting accents, and an analogue directional pad. The USB operated gaming pad does not come with a power supply.

The subcommand chair is built around a hard plastic chair with a metal frame. The chair features a padded seat, padded armrests, and a padded back. Both the back of the chair and the base have been customized with fiberglass shells detailed to match the control panels. The chair was constructed to be mounted to the floor with screws and is currently mounted to a piece of plywood for stability. Individually the console piece measures 46” x 35” x 30” (117cm x 89cm x 76cm) while the subcommand chair measures 42” x 36” x 24” (107cm x 92cm x 61cm). All pieces of this lot show minor wear from production, but remain in good, production used condition.
