A Formic Soldier Face Diagram from Gavin Hood’s 2012 Sci-Fi adaption Ender’s Game. In the film, Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is recruited to lead the International Fleet against the alien race known as Formics. This piece was made for use in the film’s opening classroom scene, though it is not seen in the final film

The piece is made of poster paper adhered to a foamcore backing board. The image features the International Fleet symbol on the top left hand corner along with annotated frontal and profile views of a Formic skull. In addition, a diagram on the bottom right hand corner depicts the alien’s oral papillae. There is minor cosmetic damage consistent with production use including portions of the bottom left and right corners where the paper is coming loose from the backing board. The piece measures 48” x 38” x 1” (122 cm x 97 cm x 2 cm) and remains in good condition.
