A Lot of Dead Formic Eggs from Gavin Hood’s 2012 sci-fi adaptation, Ender’s Game. In the film, Ender Wiggin (Asa Butterfield) is recruited to lead the International Fleet against the alien race known as Formics. These pieces were created as set dressing for the scene when Ender meets face to face with the Formic queen.

This pair of eggs is constructed of resin that was painted grey and finished with melted pieces of plastic stretched along the outside meant to mimic a webbing effect. Both pieces feature a large opening in the shell, which reveal a small resin Formic fetus attached to the inside wall. One of the eggs features a loose piece of shell that is only attached by pieces of webbing. These pieces measure roughly 7” x 5” x 4” (18 cm x 13 cm x 10 cm) each and remain in good condition.
