Seven concept artworks of the crockpot monster and Vincent Talbot (W. Morgan Sheppard) hand-drawn by noted visual effects illustrator Larry Nikolai for the production of James Signorelli's Elvira: Mistress of the Dark. Elvira (Cassandra Peterson) tried to impress Bob Redding (Daniel Greene) with a home-cooked meal, but the recipe - a spell she accidentally cast from her great-aunt Morgana's spellbook, which warlock Talbot ferociously coveted - wound up creating a monster inside her crockpot.

This lot comes from the collection of Doug Beswick, an effects artist well-known for his stop-motion animation and creature effects. It consists of one hand-drawn color concept illustration of the crockpot monster rendered in ink and dated "87"; four hand-drawn sketches of the monster with handwritten notes in the margins in graphite; and two graphite sketches of Talbot at various stages of his final transformation. All but one crockpot monster sketch is signed by Nikolai, while three of the sketches are attached to gray matte board and one is on vellum paper. The artworks exhibit discoloration throughout.
