A sword, sheath, belt and belt rig used in the 2007 film Elizabeth: The Golden Age. Faced with the threat of invasion by the Spanish, Queen Elizabeth I (Cate Blanchett) faces pressure at home to find a suitable husband to maintain her family line. The return of explorer Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen) causes furore in the court, and a plot to assassinate the queen drives Spain and England to war.
This sword and belt attachments can be seen throughout the film as Sir Walter Raleigh (Clive Owen) struggles to please his monarch. The rapier-style sword has a hand-engraved hilt and pommel with a wire-bound grip and an elaborate, curved hand guard. The long, thin steel blade has been blunted to prevent injury to actors during use on set. The sheath is made of brown leather with brass hardware and floral decoration embossed along its length. The belt and rig is made of brown leather and has various brass coloured hooks and buckles, allowing it to be properly adjusted to fit the wearer.

Well used on the production, the sword and scabbard display some signs of wear but remain in overall good condition, with the sword measuring 112cm (44”) long when sheathed.
