Rita Vrataski's stunt EXO suit from Doug Liman's Edge of Tomorrow. Rita (Emily Blunt) wore her combat armor when she repeatedly died in front of Major William Cage (Tom Cruise) on Normandy beach while caught in a time-loop. This particular EXO suit was made for stunt performers in the film's frenetic battle scenes.
The EXO suit was designed to be lightweight, while still possessing the hulking movements of military hardware. The costume is made primarily of foam rubber, with sections of resin armor and is secured to the wearer with hook-and-loop and clip-fastening straps. Hinged joints are fitted at the shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees to assist in mobility during use. Short cannon barrels are integrated into the left arm.
The entire suit is finished in a distinctive black and red paint finish, with a gray Union flag painted on the right arm. Orange tracking markers are present on the backpack to facilitate the addition of VFX shoulder cannons. Worn under the EXO armour is a full UDF uniform consisting of a dark gray jacket labeled "Liang Yang" with integrated elbow pads and Union flag and unit patches on the arms; a set of plate armor made of foam; a pair of custom camouflage combat pants labeled "Liang Yang" with a webbing belt; a pair of Dr. Martens combat boots with heel and toe cap dressing (size 7); a pair of fingerless gloves; a black neck comforter, and a pair of knee pads labeled "Rita" and "Liang." Also included are two metal dogtags - one with a Union emblem and one with a QR code at center - both engraved with blood type "A Neg," serial number "588-65-9435," and the misspelled name "R. Vritaski."
Both the armor and uniform exhibit heavy intentional distressing, with mud spatters, stains, scratches, and grime applied to provide a combat-worn appearance. Some additional wear and small tears are present on the foam components from use and age.
Additional Provenance: Warner Bros. COA.
Estimate: $30,000 - 60,000
