A British soldiers rifle from Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war film Dunkirk.
The film tells the true story of the hundreds of thousands of British soldiers who had to be evacuated from the beaches of France by an armada of small privately-owned boats and ships.
This rifle and others like it were made for the production to be held by members of the British army waiting to be rescued. It is made predominantly of wood and metal and has been intentionally distressed to look well-used and battle worn. The rifle has a moving trigger and bolt action and has a strap so it can be carried over the shoulder.
The rifle has wear from production use, including scuffing and scratches to the paintwork, revealing the wood underneath. Overall it remains in a good condition.
