An Arrakis guard’s jumpsuit and cap from the production of David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation of Frank Herbert’s Dune.

Paul Atreides (Kyle MacLachlan) leads his desert warriors against the galactic emperor after Paul’s father is assassinated.

This suit was one of many made for the production and can be seen worn by the guards on the desert planet Arrakis at various points throughout the film including when Paul and his father Leto (Jürgen Prochnow) arrive on the planet towards the beginning of the film.

The jumpsuit is made from heavy sand coloured cotton, there are various pockets of differing sizes covering the outfit that are all secured with popper buttons. There is padding on the collar bone, elbows and on the legs. The shoulder straps are fastened with popper buttons that feature a black, green and red decorative flag design with the collar containing two red, green and black eagle patches. The bottom of each leg has a zip to allow for more room to be created if needed. From the waist upwards it is fastened with both a zip and poppers. No sizes are given for the outfit.

The cap is made from the same material as the jumpsuit and features the same flag patch as on the suit however this one is circular. It features some intentional blood splattering which suggest that it was used during the film films battle sequences. Many of these outfits were unfortunately destroyed making this quite a rare collector's piece. This outfit has some slight markings and distress due to use and age however is in excellent production-used condition.
