A SFX Snakeman head made for Joseph Ruben’s sci-fi horror film Dreamscape. In the film psychic teen Alex (Dennis Quaid) is recruited by the US government to implant an idea into the mind of the US president. This version of the snakeman was ultimately unseen, however the puppet was likely made for the film’s finale when the dream assassin Tommy Ray Glatman (David Patrick Kelly) assumes the form of a snakeman from Buddy’s (Cory Yother) nightmare. Made of foam latex, this piece resembles a snake-human hybrid and has been configured by production with cable controls to operate the jaws. The piece features acrylic eyes and resin fangs. The snakeman shows some wear due to production use and age, with some areas of the foam hardening and cracking, leaving the piece in fair fragile condition.
