Harry H. Oshrin, 1943

In 1943, the legendary Bela Lugosi reprised his most famous role in a theatrical production by Harry H. Oshrin, based on the renowned play by Hamilton Deane and John L. Balderston. This is the accompanying 16-page program, which features fantastic black-and-white photographs and illustrations on every page, including a striking two-page spread showcasing scenes from other classic films starring Lugosi. This program is in outstanding condition, displaying only light wear at the tips of each bottom corner and some sporadic crimping. It is a rare collectible that would be an important addition to any serious horror collection.

Bela Lugosi's stage performance as Dracula premiered on April 30, 1943, at the Klein Auditorium in Bridgeport, Connecticut. He first portrayed the role of Dracula in a Broadway production in 1927, presenting the vampire as a sophisticated aristocrat. This interpretation helped to solidify the image of Bram Stoker's iconic character in the public's consciousness.
