This CGC-graded lobby card, one of only three in the set to feature Cagney, is a rare find indeed, as paper on this title is extremely hard to come by. It is avidly sought by many who are fans of Cagney, the gangster genre, or Pre-Code films.

This lobby card has been CGC graded at 9.2, which is Near Mint.

This intense Pre-Code crime film stars Lew Ayres, hot off his success as the lead in All Quiet on the Western Front (1930). This intense crime drama, of a type that would no longer exist after 1934 and the coming of the revitalized Production Code, is emblematic of the "social problem" films for which Warner Brothers was known during the Golden Age. It's also notable as it features a young James Cagney in his second screen appearance. Little did anyone know at the time that Cagney would soon help to redefine and send the gangster genre to new heights of popularity in the following year with his iconic performance as Tom Powers in The Public Enemy (1931), a role (his fourth) that would make him one of the biggest and most in-demand actors in Hollywood.
